October Death Days

Starting last October, I toured the gravestones of great grandparents and second great grandparents over the year. So this time, I am going to dive into my third great grandparents each month.

Gottlieb Neiderhouse

Gottlieb Neiderhouse was born 9 November 1847 in Switzerland. He married Mary Lena Scheibe. They had several children including William Neiderhause, Anna Neiderhause, Fred Albert Neiderhouse, Louis John Neiderhouse, and Emma Lena Neiderhouse. [Last year, I wasn't sure if the Brockmeiers or the Neiderhouses were Emma Lena Gould's birth parents, but upon further research including Social Security Files, the Neiderhouses are her birth parents and she gave her maiden name to her son Russell.] In 1910, Gottlieb age 62 lived in Forest City, Holt County, Missouri with his wife Mary age 58 and their son William age 36, daughter Emma Lena age 33, and grandson Russell Lawrence Neiderhouse. Gottlieb Neiderhouse died at age 83 on 3 October 1931 in Forest City. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Oregon, Holt County, Missouri. This month we honor Gottlieb Neiderhouse as a husband, father, and grandfather. A farmer from Switzerland who made a new life in America.
