Doris Maxine Perry, daughter of Ethel Maria Lease and Elmer Wasson Perry, was born March 8, 1921 in Fortescue, Holt County, Missouri. She married Maurice Lee Gould in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 8, 1940. They had one son, Gregory Gould, and adopted a daughter, Maureen Gould. Maurice Lee Gould died July 7, 1969 in Riverside, California. Doris Maxine Perry married Joseph John Kook in 1985. She died December 22, 2011 in Riverside, California. Joseph died a couple years later on January 1, 2013 in Riverside, California.
A Story of Love
Joseph met Doris's friend Roxy in cooking class. He worried that great grandma Doris would think he was a gold digger, so he brought over his financial information to show her that he had good intentions in his pursuit of her. Joseph promised Doris 20 years when they married. He always thought he would die first since he was older. Joseph John Kook was born July 6, 1916 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Each year he would gift great grandma Doris a crystal ornament some of which were themed on the 12 Days of Christmas Carol:
