Honoring the Dead This February

 Aaron Ray Beucus 

Aaron, son of Seralin Fintz and Brian Ned Beucus, was born on March 21, 1985 in San Diego, California. Aaron married Katie Green on October 26, 2013 in Ramona, California. They had two children named Evan and Haddie Beucus. Aaron worked as a firefighter in the U.S. Forest Service. He died on February 4, 2023 in Pine Valley, San Diego County, California. He donated his body to science to help with research on a rare form of osteosarcoma that killed him.

Homer Ripley Shaw 

Homer Ripley Shaw, son of Charles Milton Shaw and Melissa Rachel Mabie, was born on October 28, 1883 in Mainesburg, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He married Vena M. Warner on March 1, 1905 in Elmira, Chemung County, New York. They had several children including my great grandma Helen Elizabeth Shaw, Nelson Warner Shaw, Blanche Edna Shaw, Nellie Ellen Shaw, and Verne Wayne Shaw. Homer Ripley Shaw died on February 16, 1957 in Ellicottville, Cattaraugus County, New York.

Juanita A. Allinder 

Juanita "Neattie" A. Allinder, daughter of John Thomas Allinder and Hattie Josephine Bailey, was born on October 30, 1893 in Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas. She married James H. Surratt on January 4, 1914 in Faulkner County, Arkansas. They had several children including my great grandfather James H. Surratt Jr., Edna Olline Surratt, Willie Mae Surratt, Dora Lee Surratt, Juanita Carnell Surratt, and Velma Lucille Surratt. Juanita A. Surratt died on February 22, 1992 in Woodruff County, Arkansas. She is buried in Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob, White County, Arkansas.
