Remembering the Dead This July

Maurice Lee Gould 

Maurice Lee Gould, son of William Dexter and Emma Lena Gould, was born on 13 April 1918 in Missouri. He had a few siblings including a half-brother Russell Lawrence Neiderhouse and a brother Harold Glen Gould. Maurice married Doris Maxine Perry on 8 September 1940 in Clark County, Nevada. They had a son Gregory Gould and adopted a daughter Maureen Gould. Maurice worked as an accountant for an Oil Refinery in 1950. He died on 7 July 1969 in Riverside, California. Maurice Lee Gould is buried in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, California. We honor him this month as not only a beloved son, husband, and father but also as a man who loved to sail and water ski.

Fonda Drusilla McCorkle 

Fonda Drusilla McCorkle, daughter of Edward Rouze McCorkle and Drusilla Catherine Myers, was born on 15 July 1899 in Attica, Marion County, Iowa. She had several siblings including Ivan John McCorkle, Linden Dallas McCorkle, and Lowell McCorkle. She wed Raymond John Magill in Pettis County, Missouri in 1916. They had a few children including Fonda Doris Magill, Russel John Magill, and Norma Carolyn Magill. Fonda Drusilla (McCorkle) Magill died in 1991 in Ormond Beach, Volusia County, Florida. She is buried in Milford City Cemetery in Milford, Beaver County, Utah. She is remembered as a cherished daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Fonda taught piano, and played the organ at church.

Edward Charles Trantham 

Edward Charles Trantham, son of Charles Milton Trantham and Mary Lula McDonough, was born on 6 May 1909 in Arkansas. He had a couple siblings including Hazel May Trantham and Clyde W. Trantham. Edward married Effie Wilma McCoy in Midland, Sebastian County, Arkansas on 10 January 1929. They had children including Ramona Jean Trantham, Wanda Dean Trantham, and Charles Edward Trantham. Edward Charles Trantham died 25 July 1984. He is buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Compton, Los Angeles County, California. We honor him today as a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather. Edward was a coal miner by trade, and a bootlegger by night.
